Memories Poem by C Jay Caputo

Memories

They say its hard to say good bye
But probably just the biggest lie
So tell those feelings not to stay
And to let them all just slip away
Because memories they flood the brain
And memories drive me insane,
Memories of better days
And wishing that they'd stay the same
But they don't, cause things they change
And it's unfortunate to say
That if they were to stay the same
Than this would all have gone away

When you leave to run away
You'll probably end up all alone
By you're self just sitting there
Asking if any body cares,
But no one does, because no one cares
And no one cares because no ones there
So find a way to keep entertained
And find a reason why to live
And grab that reason by the neck
And squeeze it tight till you fell death

So now you sit and reminisce
The days of long lost innocents
Asking why they couldn't stay
Well that's the price they chose to pay
Once they thought they had it made
Now they walk on razor blades
But in your mind its all the same
And you still feel like you are to blame

Memories they come and go,
Like summers heat and winters snow,
The pain you've dealt with, who's to know,
All this work with nothing to show
