Memories Poem by Autumn Winds

Memories

Memories
Fading pictures of the past
Destroyed by time

All that's happened
All that was
And right now

Is gone before
Our minds can
Comprehend

We only remember what
Truly stands out
In our lives

Or something that has
Shaped who we are
Or changed a point of view

Other things are locked away
Seldom to be remembered
Reminisced

Every passing second
We remember a little more
About our past

Because we just lived it
As quick as it's there
It disappears twice as fast

But it leaves imprints
Sometimes very visible
Other times not so much

Memories are gate ways
Into our experiences
And lessons learned

To simply help us
In the future that
We'er in right now
