Meine Schöne

Meine Schöne,
auch du vergehst eines Tages mit deiner Schönheit
Deine Blicke gehen ins Leere,
deine Hoffnungen verlieren sich
in meinen Pupillen.

Meine Schöne,
Trauer reicht nicht aus,
alles Flehen ist umsonst,
wenn du zurückkommen willst,
wirst du in meinen Tränen ersticken.

Poem of the Day

poet Alfred Lord Tennyson

It little profits that an idle king,
By this still hearth, among these barren crags,
Match'd with an aged wife, I mete and dole
Unequal laws unto a savage race,
