Meadows Flagged With Phlox Poem by Saiom Shriver

Meadows Flagged With Phlox

In meadows flagged
by unfurling phlox
in the county of Fairfax
unconscious ones
did hunt the fox
later dining on flanks
of captive flocks

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Footnote:
Since this poem was written the UK has banned all foxhunting
with more than 2 dogs... but in Virgnia and other US states foxhunting
continues... This practice was described by Oscar Wilde as 'the unspeakable
in full pursuit of the inedible'
May all royal families and Dukes of Beaufort give an example
to the world..
