Me And My Disgrace Poem by Hasan Haskovic

Me And My Disgrace

I've been sinking since I knew of water
And I've been choking since I knew of air
Been dying since I knew of life
Been alone since I knew of care
Simply weathering the storm
Doing my fair share

Never was really all that afraid
That what I did will be unmade
But rather that never to rest will I be laid
My heart and soul for eternal peace
Is a fair trade

Passion provides a simple answer
A land of a thousand choices
And the musings of Heaven
Came as granted
I've been lonesome since I knew of company
Been chained ever since I knew I could be free
Been blind just so I could never see
In which way it will come
The end of me

God!
I am running out of prayers
As they ebb from the unfinished layers
Of the new breed of solutions

On its way through hell
This sacrament held in an empty shell
Never managed to succeed
Never to excel
Well does him who means well
But mischief will never die

Realism is ringing in my ears
Stirring up the winds of a thousand fears
Cold hearted weakness slowly replaces my strength
Time to face its eternal length

Sadness as the remedy for laughter
Reason as the cure for disaster
Cross one out and the system falls
Caught between thick walls
Of the journey through my moods

Mistakes own me
This little bit of evil
But there's no stopping the fate
My heart will have no retrieval
It'll be too late

But the fairness in your eyes
Will take the terror down to size
And in one way emphasize
The way fear multiplies

Pride is just the start
Of the corruption
Inside the ministry of heart

I shall play my part
Not letting myself end
Before I even start
Unleashing the lies
