Maybe Not Poem by Jessica Goudreault

Maybe Not

Maybe you will come back,
Maybe I will no longer have fear,
Maybe you will realize what you did,
Maybe I will no longer shed a senseless tear,
Maybe someone will find the cure for cancer,
Maybe I will achieve all that I want,
Maybe everyone will give me a straight answer,
Maybe I will get that perfect kiss in the rain,
Maybe everything will be okay,

In a world filled with doubt,
Left up to so many possibilities,
Kinda, sorta, maybe,
Why must it always linger there
Breathless in the cool air,
A looming shadow
Of undecided fate

To get rid of all the maybes
Of all the contemplating and unsureness
Is a world of perfection and bliss,
See it as you want it to be
Through the eyes that hold no doubt

You will come back,
I will no longer fear,
You will realize what you did,
I will no longer shed a senseless tear,
Someone will find the cure for cancer,
I will achieve all that I want,
Everyone will give me a straight answer,
I will get that perfect kiss in the rain,
Everything will be okay.....
