Maybe He’s A Ghost Poem by Suzanna Chevalier

Maybe He’s A Ghost

“I don’t see him anymore,
I said with a grin,
maybe he’s a ghost…
like the ghosts where I live”.
Yes, maybe he’s a ghost…
He used to run down the stairs,
slam the door without a care.
Maybe he’s a ghost…
doors open all by themselves,
everything rattles, even the shelves.
Maybe he’s a ghost…
Since 1995 I haven’t seen him alive,
maybe he’s real or maybe contrived.
Maybe he’s a ghost,
like Casper - who knows?
Thank God he’s not a ghost,
a ghost that glows.
