Maya Angelou Poem by Khalid Saifullah

Maya Angelou

Rating: 5.0

Peeping in through key holes is a sign of sickness,
Personal lives of a poetess like Maya Angelou,
Whether rays of light or darkest darkness,
Shouldn't be exposed and shouldn't undergo.

I was shocked to read a comment on her,
Someone critical on her personal life,
She is now dead, you are bent on her,
How you acted like a fatal knife!

We are concerned with her poems only,
As a poetess she was great, see her greatness,
For a reader she dispersed shining gems only,
We are only interested in her poetic brightness.

Don't make nude of a body now in grave,
Why don't you see her beauty and her art,
None will approve this gross misbehave,
You are too critical and over smart.

A lovely well articulated poem grace with beautiful rhyme scheme. Whoever is peeping through the key hole into her private life needs to read her poem STILL I RISE. I can only say that one must desist in speculating on a speck of dust in another's eyes while carrying a stone in ones eyes. A nice poem indeed. Thanks for sharing and do keep it up. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.

As a poet Maya Angelou is respected and adored by all! Even in stifling circumstances, she showed the courage and daring to question the disparity in the society and acted as a spokes person for the black people! She was a multifaceted talent.... may be her personal life was not not free of blemishes! But we needn't count that! A great write! Thanks for your comment!
