Masquerade Poem by Hanne Vandroemme

Masquerade

Rating: 5.0

Mushrooms dance around the woods while no one's watching,
Trees talk, the wind whistles,
Stones roll and take another place.
The woods are against me, I'm lost in this silly game.
The masquerade goes on. Who am I behind the masks?
Where's the shack? Did it move too?
My security, don't tell me I won't be able to find you, my anchor, who am I to you?
You know who I am and you know the way out.
Let the shade be gone and the light come in.
I want to see the sun shine through the rain.
I want to dance with you on rainbows of happiness

Really fantastic imagery and in synch rhythm! We all live as if we are going to an ever-lasting masquerade, wearing masks of many disguises, not knowing who we really are. So how can anyone ever know us. A never-ending question we all ask in life. Really thought provoking and profound poem. Thank you for making me think. RoseAnn
