Masks Poem by Stefanie Fontker

Masks

Many speak of monsters.
The devil we know,
The demon under our covers.
But are these not
Also the people we love?
Is it impossible to see,
The heart behind the wall
Of bloody screams and cuts?
This is a liquid we all
Sometimes long to drink.

So very insightful. No one truly knows the face of another or their heart. We all can be the wearers of masks. Someone somebody loves. You have captured this so well. I love the essence of your poetry.

SO true, we never know the real person we facing off...it's good to have the real look behind the face mask...the soul within which is the true face skin..I like a thought here, nice as always never disappoint :) _Unwritten SOul
