Masking Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Masking

Masking

Once in show
"City of stories"
On stage acted masks
Exactly like old days, long ago
Men wore mask of donkey, the mullah
Etc.

Show picked up
Went to top
To skies
And actors,
Gave them life.

Yesterday in the court
I saw masks
Saw the wolf, pig and dog
Everyone wore a mask
Mask of man.

Underneath was truth
They were ‘who\,
Or the ‘what'…

Mask wearers were busy
Had keyboards, pens, paper
The heart-beats animals'
Regardless, office boy to the judge
Blind were the actors…
To man's life…

Life can be
Always is
In reverse.

Inside the camera
Pictures are upside down.
