knowing and accepting
is everything

faith to pray to try
to face tyranny

overcome all that will
oppose oppress us

victory is promised won
knowing martyrdom

that though we may fall
upon our witness sacrifice

will be born divine courage
upon which others may stand

testimonies witness endures
suffering tortured death

Christian witness
offering up life for truth

Saint Stephen
whose name means crown

suffering martyrdom crowned
sanctification of God’s name
