Marshmallows Poem by Catherine Casey

Marshmallows

Marshmallows are coming!
Pink’s my favourite one.
Squashy little critters.
Are you ready for some fun?

Marshmallows are coming!
They’re ten feet wide?
Honey grab the poodle
And get the kids inside!

Marshmallows are coming!
Dialling nine one one.
Asking for the coastguard.
I think we’re sunken hun’!

Marshmallows are coming!
Phasers set to bun.
Trigger happy bakers -
Fire at will - They’re done.

Marshmallows are coming!
Now written on a plaque.
Mounted more in sentiment
Than hoping they’ll be back.

‘Marshmallows are coming! ’
Will not be heard again.
Not for lack of hearing aid
But ink has gone from pen.
