Marooned Poets

Rating: 5.0

We are but 'Poets'
Toiling hard on oceans of words
So difficult to identity ourselves
Exaltation and Honor seem far away

In Urdu Literature there are examples of Ghalib and Nazir Akbarabadi who were recognized as great poets decades after their death. Sahir Ludhianvi says- - -Yeh basti hay murdahparaston ki basti. A great short poem......10

Beautiful poem. Well said, Exaltation and Honor seem far away. Yet, we can get happiness, that once in a life we followed our passion. There are many who are so well deserved but they never get chance to follow their passion. In that case we are quite lucky. A thoughtful write. I loved reading it.

So difficult to identity ourselves Exaltation and Honor seem far away......right statement. A nice poem bearing the feeling of negligent attitude to a poet. Beautifully and aptly presented, I like most. Many thanks Jamal sir, keep the ball rolling.
