Marks Poem by Paige Parker

Marks

These marks
These stupid marks
These marks betray me
No longer a secret
Of how I spend my nights
No longer sleeping
No longer numb
Filled with darkness
The pain that never goes away
Helpless to the feeling
Loving pain more than numb
Knowing it's not right
Knowing I can't stop
These marks betray me
These marks show how I really am

I used to be a heavy duty cutter, but I'm a lot better now

Did you mark yourself? If not, that is not who you really are.
