Marilyn Little Girl Lost Poem by Peter Dome

Marilyn Little Girl Lost

Little girl lost
who never grew up
burdened throughout her short life
by a lack of her Mothers love.

Thrown into the limelight
Her beauty made her a star
loved by everyone
but never felt good enough
So insecure
always wanted a family
always searching for love

She became a pin up
and every man's dream
An alluring beauty
sensual and oozing femininity
Hid the person She was inside
and everything She she aspired to be
was denied

But the hurting child inside would not set her free.

Always felt lonely
and uncomfortable in a crowd
and so misunderstood
even though her intentions were good

Two very different people
Norma Jean no one wanted to know
and Marilyn everyone wanted to know
A product a manikin
her real self and needs denied

With her finger constantly
on the self destruct button
Finally it got too much
but even today our hearts
are touched

They'll always be a place
for Marilyn in all our hearts.

Quote ~ Help me! Help me!
Life is getting closer
and all I want to do is die. ~Marilyn Monroe'

Quote ~ She has become more than an Icon
She has become apart of our psyche.~
