Marble Moments

I was hitch-hiking in the North Country
And for one marble moment stood transfixed
By a roadside grove:
Yellow leaves on white birch trees,
Blue scattered northern columbines
Perched among the rocks.
The ecstatic height of that framed sight
Lives only in my gallery
Of unrecorded memory
Lost to transported spheres.

A marble moment is a lovely phrase to contain a memory. And the memory is not lost or unrecorded, it is the poem. Thank you on behalf of all the boys.
