Mansoon Poem by Thomas PJ New Delhi

Mansoon

Swelling twilight sets the stage
Royal torch bears the skies
Thuds Glorious loud and rage
Calves and cows moo in awe
Looming treat is on its way

Chirping birds sweet and gay
Sings aloud on fluttering wings
Divinity hides in secret skies
There’s joy around the beldam
The stage set, the chariot ready

Baby Breeze, slow and sweet
Walks apace in peace
Soon turns gloom to glee
Flowers of hues dance and sing
While trees stand tall and still

Prelude done the Baby moves
Comes the Wind, the Elder
Heavy feet and strong steps
Timbers tall and soaked in breeze
Swing and laughs aloud in mirth

Deft he comes in measured pace
Majestic multitudes besides
Hushing as he moves
Drenching as he sweeps
Showering all that he meets

Leaves caressed, flowers kissed
Light footed wingers patted
Moves he in with heavy steps
And becks Hurricane, the Eldest
To pamper trunks heavy and wet

He moves on lashing
Riding fast his lurid tram
Angelic mist sweet and juicy
Giving life and cleansing all
Oh what a joy to watch him dance

Life gets lift awhile
Seeds yearn to sprout
He slows down to rest
While all await in awe
He parts to meet anon
