Mandela Is His Name Poem by Rob Hyden

Mandela Is His Name

He was given a six month sentence with very little reason.
Then they gave him life as his charges changed to treason.
A Man of honor who gave his life to a mighty African Nation.
They found him guilty and became a sentenced of salvation.
He was sent to prison for his moral conscience and his race.
Then his jail sentence became a countries very sad disgrace.
As they set him free they thought he’s to old to be a threat.
Never held a grudge dong time for his countries racial debt.
He lead his country to become it’s mighty African leader.
He was a gentle guiding light like a social tolerance meter.
He left this earth with his conscience watching from above.
Now we live with his memory and his unconditional love.
He brought a country closer under a civil rights umbrella.
Remembered as leader and we knew him as Mandela.
