Rating: 2.7

'So, ' she said 'what is it with you men anyway, talk to me.
He said
'What do you mean? '

'You don't want to commit, you tell a girl you love her one night and don't call, then a week later you call as though nothing has happened, then at some point you cheat with the room-mate or some other woman, before or even after marriage. That what I mean' she said.

'And don't forget the over-drinking and the creeping and the sports deal. or losing that romance thing right after the wedding.'

Oh, ' he said. 'that is quite a rap sheet. Guilty before the trial huh? '

'No, ' she said 'more like a puzzlement and a mystery. Go ahead tell me the truth, us girls really need to know what is going on.'

'Well, ' he said 'this is going to take some telling. You got the time? '

'Yeah, ' she said simply,
He said 'I got the time cause you looked deep into my eyes and seemed to really want to know. So, I got the time, if you are willing to do the same for me and us men later.

Chapter Two

He said '
Let's do commitment first. You say we don't want to commit. And that is perfectly true. Many times we don't. But among the ones of us that do fall in love and want to commit we get rejected because the ones we want to commit too often are still shopping for a better deal with some other guy, and we find out too late which one we are: the rejected one or the one offering commitment to someone who is still shopping or worse yet finding out we have been deceived.
Commitment, ' he said, 'is a two way deal.'

'Well' she said 'there is there something to think about.'

He said 'People breaking each others hearts don't come in genders, both of them are guilty.'
'Second, ' he said 'committing is different for me and you. My commtment will bring expectations many of us he-men don't think we can necessarily live up to.'

'Like? ' she said slowly.

'Like marriage, house, car, children and cleanliness. Most of us guys have barely learned to use silverware, live like bears in a cave, lack clean underwear and live inside video games and sports heroes. And worse, he said, 'we sense you women want to change this idyllic life-style.'

She laughed.
