Man's Work Poem by Sebastian Soberania

Man's Work

man's work has been with the power
of his sword
to cut the twigs of the tree

he feels proud of this power to conquer
and to destroy

though he never realizes the power to connect
back the twig
without sacrificing the leaves

look at man, he goes to war to kill another man
is he not supposed to be more clever than the snake?

is his head above all things? is his heart stripped of compassion?
is he still himself before the God who created him?

is he prepared to tame the nuclear bomb that he created?
is he prepared to explain his self-destruction?

oh, i must believe in him, and in time i must listen to his justification.
