Man’s Shameful Misdemeanor Poem by Dr John Celes

Man’s Shameful Misdemeanor

Rating: 5.0

The mind of God made Mother Nature’s lap;
The heart of God filled her with creatures all;
The love of God gave her a unique touch;
The hand of God sculptured and painted rest.

God added notes and chords of music too;
God gave it hues of grades in subtle ways;
God worded tongues that spoke endearingly;
God sworded species to defend from undue harm.

All flora, fauna, God just made for man;
Man was his best creative piece he made;
His love for man had made him do all things;
He added Nature’s furies to warn him.

Lo! Man destroys the beautiful Nature;
Estranged from her, he tries to enslave her;
He learns from Nature, secrets often free;
He maligns God and his supremacy.

Oh, what a shame when man competes with God!
The clay God breathed his life turns rebellious;
The only thing God hates is sinfulness;
But man is blind and deaf to God’s commands.
