Mama Africa! !
To be bullish or to be sheepish,
Cry out loud when you have hope to fulfil your dreams!
For Mama Africa is ready to lead you on.
Mama Africa,
Cried the beloved child of Africa to the human race with love;
But pussy-footy as it may sound to you,
We have more to teach and show to the world!
For Africa is the most beautiful continent among the lot.
Mama Africa,
That's the horse-walk status for you to wear the crown of peace;
Mama Africa,
The jungle are crying for you to visit us in the heat of the day!
From Cape Town to Cairo and from Dakar to Mogadishu,
The birds and the animals are waiting for you to greet them;
From Rabat to Tananarive and from Windhoek to Benghazi,
And with the foot-prints of Mama Africa to reach out to the world!
Mama Africa, Mama Africa!
This is the land of the Blacks to sing a song like your muse;
So praise the beautiful Sun and the heat that it brings to us all.
