Malevolent Scratch Poem by Cin Sweet

there stretches it, malevolent scratch
so broad, too deep where none can see
same anywhere my eyes have seen
any place I sought to be
every step I sowed for peace

there dances it, malevolent scratch
always clinging to it my shadow's glow
near the end of my ending's row
where lies the end of my haunting itch
it smirks and laughs, daring me to it

there gloats it, malevolent scratch
teasing, taunting, knowing my limits
just out of reach from my fingertips
basking in the want of my haunting itch
never once to ever reach and scratch it
