Make-Up Poem by Katie Hudson

Make-Up

Rating: 5.0

It's better without make up,
No prissy powders or creams,
No bottles to sincerely promise,
‘Skin as soft as dreams’.

I've given up the liquids,
Down the sink they went,
The gels and pâtés followed:
An afternoon well spent.

I de-volumised my lashes,
Let the bags reign long and great,
Allowed my lips this neutral pink;
My cheeks this blushless state.

So now my face is barren:
Fresh and fair and free,
This way I look much less like you,
And a little more like me.

Great poem Katie, but being a guy I really can't empathise too much with this one. Very well written!
