Magnolia Tree Poem by Marites C. Cayetano

Magnolia Tree

I want to take pictures
of this magnolia tree
and I am standing
here and there
near and far
from this magnolia tree.

This magnolia tree
is perfect
but the rotten house beside
and the electric wires above...
oh,
I don't want them
in the picture.

This magnolia tree
it's deep purple color
oh, so deep
that I can feel the drowning
of my whole being
into it.

I want to take pictures
of this magnolia tree
and I am now spending an hour
figuring out how
without the wires
and the rotten house.
