Magical Night Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Magical Night

Rating: 4.5

The Christmas Sleigh

The reindeer pulled the sleigh along
Around a dark precipice.
It never landed on the ground.
It flew through the heavens all around.

A child sited this through his plane window
And asked his mom what that was.
His mom answered that was Christmas magic
Of a reindeer trying to reach Santa Claus.

The boy decided to play catch up
Because the plane lagged behind.
But the reindeer had magical powers
So it sped along.

I expected the reindeer to win the race
Because it on a faster pace
And the airplane could not catch up
Because it was Christmas night.

Vera, you caught me by surprise because the first three verses where in the third person, then suddenly threw me off in the first person. A delightful poem otherwise, I enjoyed the child's innocence. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
