Made By Death Poem by Mixo Malepfane

Made By Death

Made by death
Death cheated me of my childhood
I do not have memories of being a child
For I was born and then I was an adult

I do not even remember my mother’s touch
Nor do I remember her love for me
Father where are you to guide me
Can you show me the way
If only you have known and prepared for this

I have never been promiscuous maybe it is because I was never young
But death can never take all that I have
For I am mature, wiser and stronger

All my life I have been ready for death
But I will not die before my death
I want it all
To be loved and to love
And to think of tomorrow and forget today
My future is not in death like my past

This is very thought provoking and deep. A really good piece of work.
