Machines Will Take Over! Poem by suzan gumush

Machines Will Take Over!

Rating: 5.0

We are sleepwalking into disaster
Those machines are running much faster
Survellance will come unbound
Leaking surveys all around
Privacy will be no more
As machines will take over that chore
Emphasised on people
Wrongly accused on crime
It is not just a camera
On our streets
It's technology monitoring our movements
More and more information collected
We are leaving an electronic footprint
Can be seen as a broader exploration
Beware! .....
Machines will take over civilization.....
And soon! ......

Always enjoy a bit of science fiction for lunchtime. But wait, this is non-fiction! Oops, gotta get off, the microwave wants some quality time with the computer for a little while. -chuck

Suzan, I dont believe that machines will take over for one minute.Frank may disagree with me.There are a few of us who still believe in 'The Human Spirit'.We may be hounded photographed, analysed, and subjected to the abuse of 'The System' but will NEVER submit or have others deny our humanity. We You and Me are the torchbearers of thought and reasonTHE POETS. We think, reason discuss snarl and backbite each other but STILL TALK world wide.Someone once said.'I do not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it'.Freedom Lives. Methinks the lady is warning us. Star Trek episodes often feature characters called Borgs who have been assimilated by technology. I think of the Borgs every time I see someone wearing a blue tooth or read about implanting GPS chips underneath the skin. BE NOT ASSIMILATED!

I think we already have become Machines because of so many machines and technology around us and I salute your true and untainted vision on the evolution and scientific progression of human kind… Alas, what have we become because of these Machines, another Machine…: (

I agree. We tune in, tune out and let our sleepwalking minds follow the digital voice more often than not. I've enjoyed reading your poetry.

Sort of Orwellian and Ted Kaczynsky-esq - I have faith that your great write is more an observation than a call to arms. ; -) > Francesca Johnson - a forum member - just wrote something that addresses a basic answer to the issue you raise in this piece. It too is a great write, both well worth a 10. I have simplified my life in the past decade by ridding myself of machines - downsizing you might say. What happens daily for me now is more meaningful, requires more effort, but has opened my left brain to low tech creativity I never thought about, as a life long big city dweller. Spielberg's 'i Robot' takes a look at your issue from an overly dramatic futuristic standpoint. Not so much scary as technologically feasible in a short time., I know intuitively that highly mechanized. AI type life is not too far off. Maybe a generation or two. As an aside, my former colleague, a partner in a big, fancy NYC law firm told me when he threw away his mid-6 figure income, upscale Westchester digs and all the condiments that go with that life, to farm pineapples in Hawaii something I will never forget. 'George' he said 'we will all eventually return to the earth - it is inevitable. I choose to do so while I am alive and to take from the earthm rather than fertilize it with my body.' Over the past 10 years, Peter and his family have never been happier, and at that, on a substantially lower income, few 'things', simpler needs and few wants. Not a bad gig, huh? George, against mechanizing the planet
