M Poem by Michael B. Ventura

M

Waking eagerly as the eve of Christmas, so near,
Quickly looking by the window, our hanging socks so dear,
Faithfully believing you that to good kids, Santa cares,
Soon candies and toys inside left us in laughter and tears.

Salad and sweets, David will give, that's your story
If we don't behave, Goliath will have us and we'll be sorry,
Following your instructions, that's what we did, JO, B and ME,
So we can have those rewards and not make you angry.

The walks and games at the school's meadow are sweet memories,
Our jumbo ice candies, and your tales and bedtime stories,
Your smile and guidance had kept us from our childhood worries,
And made us strong like the finest wine from the sweetest berries.

On your special day, you deserve to hear our heart's song,
Our love for you, Mang will be for age-long,
That even though now we are your, JO, B, and MAKI, if you long,
We can still be those cheerful kids, AGUNG, BIRUT and MAKKONG.

Now we'd like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to a gem,
A mother who deserves the love written in every poem,
A mom who shines above all the precious diadems,
Happy birthday to you, our only one, MAMI EMS.
