Luscinia Poem by Ted Sheridan

Luscinia

Rating: 4.9

My heart is a sealed tomb
Harboring within its darkened catacomb
The remains of our passionate love
This old bronzed body
Thick with verdigris
Serves as a protective sarcophagus
A monument commemorating
My eternal respect for the woman
Whose beauty alone
Once raised me from the dead….

You were correct, Ted...I do like it, and in fact, loved it. Your choice of words is...well...monumental, and it is truly a great love poem.
