Ludicrous Use Poem by Gautam Sen

Ludicrous Use

A newly blossomed
flower, a pretty little girl -
only four years old,
entered in hospital for a surgery
She had an open fracture
in her leg and needed
to stitch the protruding
bone back in place
and set right the structure.

Operation was a minor one,
no one sensed any risk.
She had a life support system on
to gather some data on disk
as doctors' input information.
Just half way through the process
while the surgery was in progress,
like bolt from the blue
the support system stopped
and went dead for no reason to guess.

Believe it or not,
nonsensical use of technology
by someone in vicinity,
who was using mobile of dignity
just outside the operation theater,
its frequency affected
the support system to a halt.

For no fault of her
she had to lose her life;
her sweet innocence
became a victim of cell-hype
in spite of all good efforts.

Rule breaker, nowhere to find,
now please know -
your cell then worked as fire-shell,
she had to succumb to death's blow
instead of being in life's full spell.

Gruesome Grisly Ghastly Macabre… Cell put her in cell of death…please convey my deep-felt grief to the family…and my heart praying that such occurrence should come to a halt under compulsion of law and morale… … Mournfully Ms. Nivedita UK

Ask me and I'll say, 'It is the four-year old girl that dictated the epistle and you wrote it'. I feel it.
