Lucky Me Poem by Kevin Seales

Lucky me to have such a person
Teaching me all these things
The A thru Zs and 1 2 3s
And all the knowledge they bring

I sit in my chair day after day
Learning as much as I can
But sometimes it's hard, and then I'd say
Can we go play in the sand

The teacher turns and looks at me
And gives me a great big smile
And then she says, 'well maybe, we'll see'
Just sit there for awhile

Minutes later I heard the bell chime
It's time to go outside
The teacher told me to be first in line
And of course I did with pride

Right then I knew I liked my class
A group of twenty three
I hope that this year will last and last
As long as lucky me
