Loves Destiny Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Loves Destiny

Scallop ghosts lacerate the evening
Gentle words croon their way home
Consciousness like a dying autumn flower
We walk the vernal velvet paths
You are the blanket of the sea
The sapphire rain in ambrosia dreams
Classic fire lit on the poesy moon
What would I do without you?

Dawn like a shoulder of Hercules
Cliffs of Dover with eyes of Aphrodite
Sighs in the mystic castles
You in a cloak of Windermere
The Highlands bleat with ancient sheep
I gather the phrases of Wordsworth
Your hair like the honey of the elves
What would I feel if you were not real?

Come closer enthralling my heart with time
Delicate tender time of childhood sleep
Arms of birth and the joy of family
Blood so sacred like trees by the temple
Rivers run thru smooth silk forests
Meadows of gracious marigolds
Winds from the Scottish groves
What would I be without thee?
