Lovers’ Quarrel

Rating: 2.7

A lovers’ quarrel
Is never meant to be
About anything they’ve said
And choices made in anger
Can sometimes make them
Utter things
They almost always never
Intended to come out.

Strange as it may
Seem to one who never
Has been burned
In heat of passion
Gone too far,

Some lovers actually feel like this
When on the brink
Of desperation:

‘Today I love you,
But tomorrow I might not.’

‘Watch out baby,
I’ll shoot you down
Before you get a chance
To stab an arrow through my heart.’
