Lovers On Halloween Night Poem by Justin Gildow

Lovers On Halloween Night

The boyfriend gives his girlfriend a bouquet
of black roses
Which are heavenly and glistening with a
wonderful scent attached to them

Tonight is Halloween
But while the kids wander in the dark
Going from house to house
And the adults partying the night away
The boyfriend and girlfriend are alone

Tonight
They're lovers on Halloween night

He offers his hand to her
And they take a walk in the woods
Using a lantern they brought to light
their way

They stop by a lake
And sit on a huge rock
She sits on his lap
And he wraps her up in his cloak
They just look at the lake
Listening to how peaceful it is

With Halloween almost over
The lovers on Halloween night pass by
a graveyard
Talking softly as they pass it by

They walk past an old house
Commenting to one another that it
hasn't been lived in for many years

The lovers on Halloween night have
it all now
And nothing can take it away
Nothing can slow them down
Nothing can go wrong for them tonight
Nothing can go wrong for them at all
