Lovely Grapes Poem by David Thomas

Lovely Grapes

Grow from the vine
like all things very fine,
our bodies like like vineyards
are rich with flavor and promise
and our minds like thorns,
sharp to the point
together we, the vines of grapes
tangle and tangle and weave
becoming forever together
and loving together, forever.

If like a rising sun we were,
then like a setting sun we
shall reach our end in balance,
our tangles entwined and our grapes merry
wherever you look the richest, sweetest grapes
of the most heavenly perfection,
our love can grow great grapes
and our great grapes will create
the greatest wine
A chain that shall never break,
as long as our vines entangle
and our hearts do never part.
