Lovely Brownies Poem by Kennedy Oluoma

Lovely Brownies

Brownies are always lovely
except for sundays
when they get back from church sad
thinking their souls are as dark as their name

Brownies are always lovely
except for mondays
when they get less cookies
compared to the guides

Brownies are always lovely
except for tuesdays
when you ask for a little chocolate

Brownies are always lovely
except for wednesdays
when you interupt their kiddie games

Brownies are always lovely
except for thursdays
when you strip them off thier
pretty badges

Brownies are always lovely
except for fridays
when you skip the part of story telling

Brownies are always lovely
except for saturdays
when you tell them they are
getting older and would soon
pass the age of being brownies.

Brownies are always lovely
except for these days
But your brownie is an exception
