Love Your Neighbour

Since birth, we’ve lived this side of town
Through Christ we’ve tried our best
The thought we’ve let our neighbour down
Sends pain throughout one’s breast

To all we spread God’s true report
Pour forth Salvation’s wine
Trying to live as Jesus taught
A little Light to shine

It’s often hard, to make souls see
To soften a neighbour’s heart
Of course it could be you & me
Why others play no part

They don’t believe a word we say
The Truth we speak seems strange
Though Satan has them walking dead
God’s Word can make them change

It’s such a shame to watch them die
Without The Father’s Son
What fact can break the devil’s lie?
That victory may be won?

In Christ best never cry defeat
God’s banner’s flying high
Best fight the foe until he’s beat
Or know the reason why?

Without Salvation’s healing kiss
Without God’s guiding hand
The boat of life they’ll surely miss
Bound for the Promised Land

Yet in The Lord bravely persist
Sever the devil’s chain
If then our neighbours still resist
Just try and try again…
