Love, The Middle Path Poem by Chuy Amante

Love, The Middle Path

Rating: 5.0

What does love look like
when there is no attachment?
How about no aversion to it?

Whatever, whomever you attach your love to,
is not going to be there in a few months, years?
GONE, that body, that comfort, POOF! Gone

Then where does love go?
Doesn't it convert into an acute pain?

Is pain ever love?

Then you have a longing for love in the past
and a big maybe love in the future...

Attach love to NO THING
Don't hang it on the left
don't hang it on the right

Jump in its swirling water
all day and all night
BE IT
Extend it out
to all of the other
lovers of illusion
no cost
no strings
IT just IS
all-pervading
God
IS
LOVE
