Love Search Poem by Chris Jibero

Love Search

Where is your abode
In heads that ache
And hardly reason
On faces that diametrically
Sell sadness and joy
To even unwilling customers
In awake dreamy eyes
That transmit mitigated
Affection from the inmost
Recess of seared hearts
In hearts that are
Deceitful beyond redemption
In mouths that deal both
Life and death
In unequal parts
In pants that protect both
Scud and Patriotic Missiles
And manufacture both salacious
Juice and venomous vipers
In beds that are now slaughter
Slabs?

Where can one meet with you
Now because many burning questions
Arise that you have to answer
Seeing that the hearts of your
Staunch disciples bleed like
Petroleum pipelines burst
By amphibious marauding merchant
Militants in the Niger Delta
As we watch helplessly
Porous mouths drag your lovely
Name into the meandering, marshy
Man -eating creeks?

Are you so incapacitated
That you cannot take some
Action against those that
Recklessly use and dump you like
A stinking ghetto hawker or have
You become an invaluable commodity
To be bartered in a battered economic
Milieu or, yet, a bullish stock
Galloping gracefully to the top of the
Gainers' list in a depressed market?

Can't you shout aloud like
The blind man in the holy writ so you can also
Regain your sight and clear the
Refuse dumped on you by self-appointed
Apostles who delude with your bewitching name?
