Love's Triumph In Isolation Poem by RIC BASTASA

Love's Triumph In Isolation

joy faces me
two hands hold my
hand calloused
by sorrow

the past fades
your fingers
entwine with
my fingers

as we walk
to a distance
no word comes
to say to sing

there are trees
and palms and roses
there is a bright day
ahead of us

such a beautiful world
we affirm

love can triumph
in isolation
