The language of love is only silence
Time and again wonderfully proven true
It is not a question of how or whence
But Love cometh as a bolt from the blue..........

I welcome all ye reading this to my page (Report) Reply

So terribly true of all unrequited love. We are never so vulnerable as when we are in love and to the person who doesn't love, never so boring. She wanted the excitement of the chase, he needed commitment. It would never have worked! (Report) Reply

I wonder where this poem will stand in today's noisy world where people are advised to express their love like a parrot day and night! (Report) Reply

I loved this as I read entirely differently to the previous comment. I am probably wrong but to me it felt he had confessed love to a person who had not shown any affection to him. It was almost as if she was mildly horrified at the thought. The tie up line I find most interesting. Took her with a sigh. A sigh of possibly relish. Or even disappointment.... Just my first reaction as ever. Ty karen (Report) Reply

I have to add Donne to my last blog. The three greatest poets, in my opinion, are Shakespeare, Donne and Blake - with Larkin a possible fourth. What Blake is deprecating is the lover who cannot stop talking about his love instead of getting on with it - a sure sign of impotence! The woman is so frustrated that she takes a passer by on sight. Fantastic poetry. I agree that Blake is among the truly great poets. By far the best poem of the day, I have read since a long long time. (Report) Reply

Well, let me tell you something Bill- if someone stared at me like your picture shows I would have to leave also. Go find some ugly girl to love then you won't feel so bad (just don't stare at her) Just kidding everyone! Pull your pants back up and quit dancing around the room- I was just kidding with ol' Bill here. (Report) Reply

sometimes love is like a sand, it will never stay in your hand....it goes whenever the wind blows! (Report) Reply
