Love's Mission Poem by Aledra Rodriguez

Love's Mission

Sliced open my skin
with your Sharpened eyes
splattered my fears, my dreams, my hopes, my lies
Ripped out my heart
took my rhythm of life
small box of emotions, left empty inside
you dug a hole in my mind
and buried your words
filled me up with your bittersweet curse
poured me a glass
of your sweet poisoned wine
killed me and left me alone to die

A part of me leaves
a part of me stays
Say goodbye to my innocence
and hello to my shame
blood pours from my eyes
like the long rainy days
i am now but a shadow
that gets lost in a shade
my colors have faded
now black and grey
my heart was you mission
my heart was your game
