sadness and tears
heartbroken cries
the tale of love's innocence lost

changing world
trying times
heart heavy with a touch of frost

i'm sorry my sweet
this hurts you so
life's neverending lessons start

but with every battle
and each little victory
i'll always be there to play my part

tears and sadness
heartbroken
weary
a tale of love's innocence lost

just know it will not last forever
the healing will come
and this lake, too will be crossed
