Love's Garden Poem by Alejandro Torres

Love's Garden

Wilt wild blossom wilt
Your Mistress will never notice the difference
And if she does
The remark will be hollow
She has forsaken your heart wild rose
For notions of everything you are
Could not hold her frightened heart
Do not hold it against her, young seed
You’ve only gone with nature
For all your winters of life
Your Mistress much less
But it doesn’t mean it wont hurt
When every word not directed at you
Rips your petals even more
She will love many before she takes note
Of how you’ve strangely disappeared
But only as the voice that says
I love you
Inside her head
Fret not tender budding blossom
On day her beautiful smile will return
And that sparkle in her eyes will last
Longer than the initial hello
And when she takes you into her bosom
The hold will be sweeter than before
Than ever
Pardon her wild thing
She does not deserve the thorns
That align your spine
She was never as crass as she said
She is only too human
Take pity on her plight
And scorn her not with jealous notions
Guard yourself for only a while longer
She has seen the fire is gone
She knows it wont be long
Before you have gone with it
It was never her fault
She couldn’t be
As wild as once thought
You yourself were
Wild blossom
For yours will always be
A wild kind
Of love
