Love's Call Poem by David Harris

Love's Call

As the evening shadows fall
I call out to hear love's call
from behind the horizon
where she may be.
Only silence greets my ears
as the sun begins to set
to end another day.

Beyond the horizon
one day I might be
and find the treasure
I look so desperately for.
One day I will call out
and love will reply to my call.

Everyone has a love
just out of reach of our mortal arms.
One day when we are ready
we may reach out and feel that touch.
Until that day arrives
we can only call out
and hope they will reply.
