Love's Apocalypse Poem by Crystal Rosser

Love's Apocalypse

She peers into the ruins,
From her davenport, like a distant mountain,
Watching as it comes, a hellish storm brimming
Sputtering fire before her, in the vista
Leaves shift to flesh, limbs shift to bones
Sprouting from the black ashes and shadows.

Red dust, veil of the horizon
Lakes and rivers, streams and seas
A tide of demons rolling in, her beloved
His voice moves to her, across the chaos
As streaks of fire approach, she stands,
Burning embers of passion.

Spinning blissfully in the destruction
She longs for him, her truelove's embrace
To feel his touch, through her breast,
Clasping her heart, trembling and
Tying knots between them.

Round his fingers, her blood, her essence
In the palms of his hands, she's melting
Like a sweet release,
She inhales him and wilts.

From beginning to end,
As life and death,
From doves to souls,
They caress and perish.
