Love Reside Deeper Poem by Sadiqullah Khan

Love Reside Deeper

‘Lose yourself completely
Return to the root of the root of your own soul.’
Rumi

Love reside deeper,
Deeper and deeper than knowledge,
Knowledge is dark force of nature
Naming things seldom make them better.
You need not change the world
Of its own doing is the divinity’s course
Or a spark within the dusted pans.

The singer in the street is freedom’s bird,
Do away with the moral’s bicker
The poet-sage, Ghalib was in love
The Domni muse would bring him tidings,
Nor a conversion here and there,
A note that swings from note to note
Is sweetness in music with’out ties long.
