Love & Purity Poem by Yehoshua Shim'onai

Love & Purity

Rating: 4.3

(2/8/14)

You are a box of delights
. that I want to uncover
You are a closed garden
. that I want to enter in and explore
You are a refreshing spring
. that I want to dig in
You are a fragrant fruit tree
. that I want to climb
. to lay hold of its fruits
But may the Lord give me temperance
. that I may truly love you!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was done reading the Song of Solomon when I wrote this as a conclusion to everything that I learned from that OT book.

Very inspiring, the last two lines of the poem. It shows that the poet wasn't seeking the vain glorification of beauty. A mature piece indeed. Thanks for sharing and keep it up. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
